Up to the Challenge

June 4th, 2010

While slowly making its way across the path next to the Wetlands in Explore the Wild, a crawfish suddenly found itself surrounded by gigantic two-legged creatures.

A crawfish walks across the pavement in Explore the Wild into a world of Saturday strollers.

When confronted by a passerby, the crawfish stood its ground.

En Garde!

Fighting back, the crawfish grabbed the stick.

Not to be outdone by a biped, no matter how big, the crawfish met the challenge.

After a brief skirmish, the pedestrian finally let go of the stick.

Touché!

Chalk one up for the crawfish.

This was just one of three separate crawfish seen walking the pavement on Saturday, the 29th of May.

This crawfish (in Catch the Wind) was no less fearless as it stood near the edge of the pavement daring me to come closer.

Enjoy!

Crawfish, crayfish, crawdads, mudbugs, they’re all the same critter. Just depends where you come from, I suppose.
